In general, each professional may be interested in at least two or three types of job searches: from there, if necessary, you can apply small changes to any of your resumes before sending it.
For example, it may be that a lawyer is looking for a job in a law firm and, at the same time, is interested in teaching. How it is: A chronologically ordered resume presents work experience and studies according to the dates they were carried out. This is often useful for a short-term candidate, allowing you to see how each item is completed. It is an example of an ideal resume for a person who has just entered the labor market and who can stand out if the person shows some evolution (for example, if he had a junior position first and then obtained a job with more seniority).
This type of CV can be raised from the most recent to the oldest, or vice versa. In general, it is a good idea to bring up the most recent experiences at the beginning, as they are probably the most powerful as well.

When it is useful:
A Resume that combines the chronological and the functional
How it is: In this example of a resume, professional experience is ordered under two variables: dates and the hierarchy or seniority of each role. In this sense, those jobs that are more junior can be grouped on the one hand, and those with greater responsibilities on the other. Within each of these groups, the information can be arranged chronologically.
This example of a resume shows a variety of skills of the candidate, exposing him as a person who can handle different hierarchies. It is particularly useful for people who have reached high seniority in one industry and want to switch to another. This responds to the fact that it shows the employer that they are in front of a candidate who can be “a player of the whole court”, with a good predisposition to learn.
When it is useful:
It is common to see examples of creative resumes, which surprise from the presentation or design. A clear example of a creative resume is that of a candidate who decided to translate his work experience into a wine label. This idea is an extreme example of a resume that seeks to attract the attention of your potential employer and stand out from other candidates.
How it is: As mentioned in the example, a creative cv can be in the most varied formats. It could be a wine label, it could be a video, or it could simply be a strikingly designed PDF document.
This sample resume is ideal for jobs where creativity is one of the sought after characteristics for the role. It’s also particularly useful when your search has a high candidate pool and you need to stand out on the first impression to get around the recruiter’s primary filter.
A creative resume is not for any search or professional. In that sense, two variables must be taken into account. First, the level of formality required by the job for which you are applying. In some searches, trying to “surprise” with a curious resume can be counterproductive. Second, it is convenient to investigate the culture of the company to which it is being applied.
Is it a company that aims for innovation, to constantly improve structures, in which creativity is a condition to enter? Or are you, on the contrary, in front of a company fanatical of formalities, with highly rigid structures? If it is the second case, it is convenient to explore more traditional resume options.
WHEN A CREATIVE RESUME IS USEFUL: EXAMPLES
No matter which resume example you stick with, it is important that you accompany it with a cover letter. In this letter, your potential employer will be able to see not only how you express yourself in writing, but also what your work goals are.
In this letter you can allow yourself a more colloquial language, without abusing informality, but approaching a more person-to-person communication. Always taking into account what type of company you are talking to.
In that sense, it will be good if you show your interest in the company you are addressing and mention any reason why you want to be part of the company. Do not appeal to the need for work or money, but to a professional affinity that makes you the ideal candidate for the position.
In addition, it will be good for you to review what characteristics are exclusive in the search and notice – not textually – some experience in which you have applied those traits or abilities.
A type that can be useful to you: it is convenient to write a cover letter template to which you make modifications according to each search. This will save you time on each submission and give your presentation a personalized tone. Don’t lose sight of the fact that your potential employer is trying to get to know you and assess why you are the best for the position: don’t miss the opportunity by submitting a copypaste.
